The Manhattan Midwest Mountain Bike Patrol will be awarded the KDWP's Park Division Award for our work on the Fancy Creek Trail. The award will be presented at the Departments next Commission meeting in Beloit, KS on March 24th. This award is chosen from nominations by State Park Directors and the Manhattan MMBP was nominated by the Director of Tuttle Creek State Park, Todd Lovin.
To date the Manhattan MMBP has added over 1675 linear feet of trail at Fancy Creek State Park and last year spent nearly 250 combined volunteer hours working on the trails.
A special thanks goes out to all persons who have volunteered their time to help make Fancy Creek a recreational trail destination. This includes Todd Lovin who has even put hand-to-tool-to-trail on occasion. Without his cooperation and that of the KDWP our success would not have been possible.
Thanks to these people:
Dan Ohldhoeft, Karen Loumaster, Scott Baugh, Kevin Moncke, Issac Crabtree, Dustan Ridder, Will Brietkruetz, Dan Scott, Todd Lovin, Travis Swicegood, Shelly (from Americore), Dustin, Amanda, Pete, Doug Long, Keith Jones, Casey Stoddard, and Nate Schotanus.
